Ontario Drive & Gear Limited is looking for an experienced
Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join our dynamic team.

This role will oversee the EHS function across our facilities and will be a valued partner within the HR functional department with full company exposure.


As an experienced and hands on EHS professional, you know how to review and evaluate EHS programs against legislative and industry standards and have a solid project management skill set that helps drive continuous improvement and compliance.

You know the importance of accurate data management/auditing and can engage and effectively influence our stakeholders and employees.


Ontario Drive & Gear Limited is looking for a EHS partner and coach who is curious, a critical thinker, has a background in manufacturing, a safety designation and 3 to 5 years of experience in an environmental health and safety capacity.


Essential Duties:


  • Promote and coordinate all Environmental, Health and Safety programs to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and support a progressive safety culture.
  • Monitor, audit, evaluate and review existing and upcoming EH&S legislation to ensure company awareness and compliance with legislated requirements.
  • Plan, develop, deliver, and arrange annual Environmental and Health and Safety training programs
  • Establish annual targets to reduce incidents, EH&S risks, and nonconformances and measure performance against established targets.
  • Ensure maintenance of records on Environmental, Health and Safety training documentation (assessments, audits, employee records) and reporting both internally and externally.
  • Develop safety and environmental talks and participate in various meetings and committees
  • Review all accident and incident reports and provide leadership in determining root cause and developing and closing corrective actions
  • Ensure risk assessments are conducted and work cooperatively with stakeholders to help ensure appropriate control measures are in place.
  • Participate in JHSC's meetings and in all prestart certifications for equipment and coordinate monthly workplace inspections.
  • In cooperation with HR, Maintain Environmental and Health and Safety Communication boards.
  • Serve as key contact and liaison for MOL and MOE
