As Project Manager (Immigration and Recruitment Consultant) you will join a team that is accountable for leadership and oversight of the recruitment and retention of Physicians, Nurses, and other Allied Healthcare Professionals for Nova Scotia.

Reporting to the Project Executive Lead, the Project Manager is an integral member of the recruitment and retention team.

Responsibilities include but not limited to, leading the attraction process for domestic and international workers, and providing consultation and guidance to members of the team and our clients in international recruitment.

Primary Accountabilities:


  • Leads planning and participates in both national and international recruitment events and acts as a primary liaison with external recruitment stakeholders (i.e., educational facilities, employees, employers, immigration settlement organizations, ISANS, etc). Manages and provide leadership with recruitment missions with our key partner, including identification of new market opportunities.
  • Consults with clients to implement available retention programs and services aimed at onboarding and retaining international employees.
  • Generates and analyses recruitment performance metrics and prepares reports for key stakeholders as necessary.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations (inperson and virtual) that promote Nova Scotia's work and lifestyle opportunities.
  • Maintains effective working and collaborative relationships with partners throughout the health system ensuring seamless advice and service to clients
  • Implements best practices to further support international recruitment efforts.
  • Provide recommendations for approval and/or revisions of plans and strategies related to recruitment and retention efforts.

Qualifications and Experience:


This may be the right opportunity for you if you are a leader with extensive partnership and stakeholder relations skills and experience in areas of international recruitment and retention.

You have a Bachelors' Degree plus several years of progressively responsible experience in the areas of immigration, recruitment and retention, equity, diversity and inclusion, strategy, and policy development, reporting and stakeholder relations.


You must be a member in good standing with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC) and or with a Canadian provincial or territorial law society/ Chambre des notaires du Québec.


You have experience providing recommendations and solutions to policies, problems, and required changes by developing new approaches based on constructive thinking, innovation, and broad consultation.

You have led projects from initiation to implementation, and organized recruitment missions as it relates to domestic and international recruitment.

Ability to manage confidential issues, with the highest level of professionalism is required. You are able to travel both domestically and internationally.
