Water Meter Clerk (Full-Time)

Temporary (Approximately 9 months)

Applications are invited for the position of Water Meter Clerk within the City of North Bay's Finance Department.

Under the direction of the Manager, Tax and Water, the Clerk acts as the primary customer service representative for water meter/consumption enquiries, and is responsible for water billing including adjustment, corrections and Public Works charges.

The Clerk performs daily analysis and troubleshooting of the Risk Assessment Reports from the Fixed Area Network (N_Sight) water meter reading data for irregularities, and meter reading accuracy.

The Clerk prepares and posts journal entries for adjustments to the water and sewer accounts.


Qualifications:


  • Grade 12 Education
  • Three (3) years' experience in areas of administration, analysis, customer service
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service skills and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and deal effectively with the public
  • Knowledge of computerized billing and customer service systems
  • Demonstrated ability to run system integrations and trouble shooting
  • Knowledge of the water billing system and tax billing system
  • Proven ability to perform day to day activities independently and with limited or no supervision
  • Excellent analytical skills

Assets:


  • Familiarity with Fixed Area Network (FAN), Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) and Meter Interface Unit (MIU) technologies

Hours of Work:8:30 am to 4:30 pm - Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)

Hourly Rate:
$28.88 per hour
