The Sun Life Health Financial Analyst reporting to the Manager, Expense Management is responsible for supporting expense reporting, forecasting, analysis and value-added insights.
This role will develop key working relationships with Sun Life Health teams as well as partners across the company including Client Experience Office, Canadian Operations, Canadian Finance and Digital Business and Technology Solutions.
This role requires a self-motivated and detailed-oriented individual with proven analytical and problem-solving skills with capability to influence and optimize expense strategies to achieve financial goals.
What will you do?
- Support timely and accurate monthly and quarterly reporting under IFRS 17 for Sun Life Health expenses and FTEs including analysis and valueadded insights
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual forecasts
- Participate in annual planning and budgeting and other expense deliverables as required
- Improve and optimize expense reporting and analysis processes
What do you need to succeed?
- Postsecondary degree and experience in financial planning, reporting, forecasting and deep dive analysis
- Proven analytical and problemsolving skills with valueadded insights
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage changing and multiple priorities with strong organization and timemanagement skills
- Ability to deliver under tight timelines
- Strong relationship management and teamwork skills
- Selfstarter with the ability to work both independently with mínimal supervision and within a team
- Strong PC skills (MSOffice Suite, SharePoint, SAP, Hyperion, Tableau).
Preferred:
- CPA is an asset
- 3+ years of work experience in the Insurance or Financial Services Industry
- Experience communicating and presenting results
- Familiar with insurance and reporting under IFRS 1
- Financial modelling experience
- Experience with automating, streamlining and optimizing processes to drive operational efficiency through continuous improvement
