Job Description:


Responsibilities:


  • Negotiating prices and sales with producers and consumers
  • Strong skills in networking, coldcalling, and qualifying prospects
  • Knowing the specifics of current inventory, including expected deliveries
  • Anticipate, understand, and successfully navigate multiple, fluctuating market conditions while balancing risk and financing
  • Keeping an uptodate knowledge of the markets to ensure realtime price discovery
  • Communicating and collaborating with the support team to ensure smooth transactions

Key Qualifications & Requirements:


  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Valid Driver's license is required
  • Access to own vehicle as there is a mínimal local travel expected (2days / month
  • Trade shows 23 / year)
  • Excellent customer service skills on the phone and inperson with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally, with contacts at all levels
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
  • Knowledge of commodity lumber products in a wholesale, distribution or retail environment is preferred
  • Commodity, forestry, or lumber sales experience is considered an asset

Education/Experience:


  • Minimum of 1 year experience or more as a commodity trader is strongly preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Building supply industry experience is considered an asset

Remuneration:

- $60-90k / annum
