We're looking for new talent to join us as we transform BC's energy future.

Our diverse team of more than 2,600 employees is committed to a safe and inclusive culture where each of us can connect, belong and grow.

Join us and let's work together for a better BC. Position Overview

You're passionate about helping people reach their full potential, and your expertise in adult learning means you can design innovative programs that engage professionals and support larger business objectives.

Genuine collaboration and thoughtful communications allow you to integrate your clients' needs into your training programs and lead your team to deliver high-quality training that continuously evolves.

Your unique skillset and experience will help you thrive as our Instructional Design Manager.

In this role, you'll work with internal client groups to identify, define, and prioritize training development needs with a focus on delivering innovative training solutions.

You'll also manage a team of instructional designers and writers by assigning projects, managing resources and timelines, and maintaining oversight on the quality of training deliverables.

In year 1, you will:

Establish collaborative relationships with stakeholders from key client groups to identify, define, and prioritize training needs on an ongoing basis.

Build a high-performing training design team aligned to our corporate values.
Identify and review key training programs requiring modernization, including defining metrics for success.

In year 2, you will:
Continue to integrate technology and other innovative training modalities into key training programs.
Review program evaluations and conduct analysis on training impact and achievement of business objectives to foster continuous improvement.
Support ongoing skill development with your team to ensure a high standard of delivery of innovative training programs

What it takes:

A bachelor's degree in a related discipline from a recognized program, plus four to seven years of recent, related experience in instructional design, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Leadership in a learning and development capacity, and a thorough understanding of training development and delivery tools, such as Articulate 360 and Learning Management System, is considered an asset.

A demonstrated ability to develop and implement training programs that integrate adult learning principles and are based on practical frameworks and processes.

Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to engage partners, address client pain points, and support direct reports in overcoming challenges.

Incredible strategic thinking skills to implement innovative learning solutions and evolve our suite of programs while staying abreast of training industry trends and technologies.

Great organization and prioritization skills to juggle competing priorities coming from all levels of the business and a demanding work schedule.

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
