Your Impact:


We have exciting leadership opportunities for an experienced Project Controls Manager - Transit / Rail to lead a project controls team within a client organization delivering major rail and transit infrastructure programs.

Opportunities include positions within either commuter rail, light rail transit or subway projects.


The client and consultant team comprises an integrated organization and as such the position reports to the clients' delivery lead for day-to-day project delivery and functionally to the Program Controls Manager.

Direct reports to the position include project discipline staff, e.g.

Scheduling, Document, Risk and Quality and may also comprise Cost Management, technical or other staff depending on the assigned project.


For this leadership position the incumbent will develop positive and trusted relationships at all levels within the client team and with various stakeholders and other parties.


The position will successfully manage the various relationships, resolve issues and provide coordination and consistency between the project controls functions.

The position will also facilitate the development of effective and efficient project controls systems, processes and procedures and support their consistent implementation across projects.


Here's What You'll Need:


  • A successful track record in leading the execution of project controls activities on large infrastructure projects and/or programs,
  • Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams with responsibility for staffing, resource planning and the active development and mentoring of staff,
  • Experience with various project procurement and delivery models e.g. DB, DBB, PPP/AFP, PDB and Alliance.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, project management, or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience with increasing responsibility in leading of project controls teams.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and a flexible approach to succeed in delivering the various and changeable project activities and issues,
  • Excellent people skills to build positive relationships with client, stakeholders and own staff.

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Experience working within a clientconsultant integrated organization.
  • Transportation project experience and specifically rail and/or transit experience.
  • Strong discipline expertise in project control processes; scheduling, risk, cost, and quality etc.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Contract management experience.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Forward thinking, eager to implement best practices, and contribute to solutions with innovative ideas.
  • Experience and initiative in contributing to wider leadership activities.
  • PMP accreditation or a similar association is a plus.
