    Responsible assisting in the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. Follow the Sonoco Performance System (SPS) and assist implementing project and processes to address production, quality, safety, and maintenance requirements of the business.

    Position Responsibilities:

    Assist designing, development, and implementation of new processes and equipment.

    Propose process improvements and cost reduction projects.

    Provide project support for SPS Pillars.

    Research new technology available to improve equipment efficiencies.

    Assist with maintenance programs using C-Works for manufacturing equipment such as PM'S.

    Lead monitor and update speed, waste, minor stops, changeover losses for equipment.

    Follow all Sonoco safety expectations.

    Develop, implement, and maintain improved safety procedures.

    Create and modify JSA'S, SOP'S and LOTO procedures.

    Coordinate plant safety teams and activities.

    Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

    Commitment to quality.

    Experience and Education requirement:

    Currently enrolled in either Mechanical or Industrial Engineering University Program

    Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office, VBA & AUTO CAD is an asset

    Previous manufacturing environment experience is an asset

    Ability to work independently once an assignment has been communicated

    Organize workload to coordinate and execute an effective completion plan

    Communicate effectively with all levels within the manufacturing community.

    Must possess strong critical thinking, problem solving, analyzing, and examining skills to find the best solutions to various situations.
