Summary


Reporting to the VP, Philanthropy, Engagement & Impact, this position is responsible for leading, expanding and executing the YMCA-YWCA's extensive grants program, including all solicitation phases, cultivation, stewardship, and donor communications and impact reports.

As the Grants & Donor Stewardship Specialist, you'll manage relationships with donors and external partners to facilitate ongoing support for community programs and capital initiatives while supporting the organization's data strategy for philanthropic success.


Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, write and develop proposals/grant submissions for government/foundation funding programs.
  • Collaborate with Y departments to identify funding needs and connect with funding sources.
  • Research and provide data analytics to funders to demonstrate impact of programming.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with relevant organizations and government entities.
  • Represent and advocate for YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg in meetings and workshops with granting agencies, including leading response writing for information requests.
  • Maintain database requirements for existing and potential donors and supporting agencies.
  • Pursue opportunities to grow the organization's endowment.
  • Develop stewardship strategies and implement processes and tactics for timely and appropriate donor correspondence and acknowledgement.
  • Conduct donor prospect research to help build stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in fundraising, database management, administration or relevant field (equivalent work experience will also be considered).
  • 5+ years of grant writing experience.
  • Experience with prospect research and building donor profiles.
  • Experience in managing relationships with government and granting agencies.
  • Exceptional written and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Resourceful team player capable of collaborating with multiple crossfunctional teams.
  • Detailoriented and initiativedriven individual maximizing grant support for organizational success.
  • Experience managing proposal writing process to secure government funding.
  • Experience in major gift prospect identification, cultivation and stewardship practices.
