Under the supervision of the Director, Group Disability Claims Operations the Manager, Group Disability Claims will support, coordinate, and manage the activities of a team of disability case managers in achieving client experience objectives and claim service level standards.

In this role you will build effective internal and external partnerships to support your team in delivering reliable customer services and disability management.

The manager acts as a primary partner and contact for our disability clients and partners. This includes overseeing the disability team and ensuring proactive, supportive and collaborative services are provided to plan members.

They are also involved in conducting regular client service meetings, claim file reviews, and appeal reviews, as well as providing ongoing direction to the team to achieve targets.

The manager will also ensure work procedures and processes are up-to-date and that they are compliant with industry standards and regulations.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Experienced leader with demonstrated ability to manage teams
  • Ability to motivate people and optimize performance in a dynamic environment
  • Experience in disability management
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or 10 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (bilingualism in English and French is not required but considered an asset)
  • Selfmotivated, takes initiative
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, teambased environment
  • An analytical mindset
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong sense of customer service
  • Ability to work under pressure, working within deadlines
  • Familiarity with the Lean methodology, KPIs and DMS
  • LOMA, HIAA, and ICA designations are considered an asset
