Job Overview

  • The Electrotechnician is responsible for providing technical support, installation, maintenance, and repair services for scientific equipment sold by Anton Paar Canada. The role involves regular travel to customer sites primarily within Western Canada to ensure proper functioning and performance of the equipment. The Electrotechnician works closely with customers, providing training and troubleshooting assistance to ensure optimal utilization of the products.

  • Core Responsibilities
  • Install, and test scientific equipment at customer sites.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and perform repairs on equipment as needed.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Train customers on the operation, calibration, and maintenance of the equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, including service reports and documentation.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify and pursue service contract opportunities.
  • Stay uptodate with product knowledge, technical advancements, and industry trends.
  • This position requires up to 50% overnight travel within Canada and occasional international travel.
Deliverables

  • Installation and Commissioning: Successfully install and commission scientific equipment at customer sites, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to specifications.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance activities and necessary repairs on the equipment to ensure optimal performance, minimizing downtime for customers.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of service activities, including service reports, maintenance logs, and documentation of customer interactions.
  • Service Contract Management: Collaborate with the sales team to identify and pursue service contract opportunities, ensuring contract renewals and customer retention.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as a primary point of contact for their technical inquiries and service needs.
  • Feedback and Reporting: Provide feedback to the company regarding equipment performance, customer requirements, and potential product improvements.

Qualifications:


  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a field service representative.
  • Previous experience in a similar field service role, preferably with scientific instrumentation.
  • Experience with managing and preserving technical equipment.
  • Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools, software, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and travel frequently to customer sites.
  • Ability to lift up to 25Kg regularly or occasionally up to 40kg.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fastpaced environment.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites within the assigned region.
  • Have a valid driver license.
  • Have the authorization to work in Canada.
