Job description:


  • Monday to Friday 9 hr days with every 2nd Friday off
  • Able to work independently with mínimal supervision as the work is dynamic and priorities change
  • This position requires field walk downs to understand scope of work and is a balance between office and field time.
Cold lake is a world class energy operation. Consisting of 5 plants and extensive field facilities, a work force of 400 employees and multiple contractors.


Responsibilities:


  • Demonstrates safety as the top priority; brings forward all safety concerns and drives solutions
  • Process optimization and tuning of controls as required
  • Troubleshooting and consulting facility design to resolve process control and operating issues
  • Delivering design and or input for local projects/MOCs and associated programming
  • Building, modifying and maintaining the graphical schematics for the control room operators
  • Documenting all controls changes, working closely with control room operators for proper transfer of knowledge.

Qualifications:


Academic

  • Instrumentation engineering technology diploma or journeyperson instrumentation required
  • Experience with the following systems is preferred
  • Honeywell TDC3000 (LCN, UCN, HPM), C300 and Experion DCS installations
  • Honeywell Safety Manager and Fail-Safe Controller SIS installations

Other

  • Valid class 5 driver's license and safe driving record are required
  • Ability to think creatively and adapt to tight deadlines while progressing work on multiple fronts
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
