We are currently seeking an experienced Business Development Associate to join our team In this role, the successful applicant will bring their experience, customer relationship management skills and zest for life to source and build new customer relationships, drum up business and directly support both the Business Development Manager and Sales Team.

The successful applicant must have:

2+ years in sales/business development
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent followthrough
Demonstrated success in generating leads and building relationships
Desire and ability to go out and establish/reinforce new positive business relationships with clients/prospective clients
Ability to prioritize and multitask across disciplines
Quick, ontheball thinking.
High competency level in using various software platforms including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), Salesforce and FloriSoft
An ability to work independently and collaboratively
Ability and interest in learning new software programs
Driven, with a strong work ethic and sense of self
Willingness to put in extra hours to ensure needs of the organization are met

Bonus points if you have one or more of these:

Experience providing Client/Customer Relationship Management, juggling the wants and needs of many
Previous experience in the floral industry

Physical/Mental Demands

Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Ability to handle stress, as this role can at times be highly stressful
Ability to work in various climates, including a warehouse environment which consists of cooler temperatures ranging from 216 degrees
Ability to travel outside of the province/country to attend trade shows, professional events and meet/build customer base

What this role will look like on a daily:

Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and potential customers
Develop and maintain a database of potential customers and industry stakeholders
Assist in the preparation of sales presentations and proposals
Provide customer support and followup on sales leads
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, including marketing, to develop and launch new

products or services

Maintain accurate and uptodate records of customer interactions and sales activities.
Attend trade shows and industry events to build relationships and identify new business

opportunities

Provide customer support and followup on sales leads

Directly assist the Business Development Manager in any ongoing projects
Attend/setup trade shows and professional events
Network and offer continued support to current and future customers to ensure customer satisfaction
