31/08/2023***Reporting to the XPS Lab Supervisor, the Technical Assistant is responsible for organizing, coordinating, planning and reporting on test work, sampling, and monitoring of production processes and equipment.

The Technical Assistant participates in teams responsible for start-up and commissioning of new equipment as directed by the Area Engineer or Senior Technologist and will also organize, plan and perform tests in the plant, environment or laboratory.

In this position the incumbent will operate sampling and analytical equipment and participate in formalizing recommendations for changes/ improvement to increase process efficiency.

Quality work in this position is essential. Time management and organization skills are required to respect all deadlines.

This position requires a Community College graduate from a three-year environmental, metallurgical, or chemical engineering technology program or acceptable equivalent studies and up to one year relevant experience in collecting samples, using monitoring equipment and/or carrying out laboratory and sample preparation methods on mining or metallurgical materials.

Must have G2 or G license.
