    Job Overview

    The Operations Technician is responsible for safe, dependable, and efficient operations of packaging finished goods for customers. This is a challenging and rewarding job that requires the employee to have a strong work ethic, problem solving capabilities, and close attention to detail.

    The Operations Technician performs the necessary steps to fulfil customer orders at a high level of quality. This includes ensuring the correct material, quantity, and packaging container size is met for each order. It is expected that these standards are maintained by following Linde Standard practices in all aspects of this job.

    Job Accountabilities

    Operational Excellence

  • Follows necessary steps detailed by customerpackaging job instructions, written job instructions, or verbal instructions.
  • Displays basic understanding and knowledge regarding operation of packaging machines, fork trucks and associated equipment.
  • Ensures inventory accuracy.
  • Understands the fundamentals of packaging operations, labeling machines, clean-ups, and properly filling out job routers. Can perform these tasks routinely and safely.
  • Displays ability to make minor and routine adjustments to production equipment without the assistance from maintenance.
  • Displays basic ability to use computersystems such as Microsoft Outlook, Oracle, Wavefront, etc.
  • Cleans and inspects all equipment, machines,bins, and work area.
  • Ability to complete forklift certification within 60 days of employment.
  • Internal Collaboration

  • Collaborates cross-functionally between operations, engineering, sales, and quality.
  • Ability to cross-train within other areas of the plant (shipping, receiving.) depending on the needs of the business.
  • Quality, Safety, & Compliance

  • Ability to read, understand and use Product Manufacturing Instructions (PMI's), Job-Safety Analysis' (JSA), and schedule to accomplish daily packaging tasks.
  • Routinely Inspects and monitors each packaging job to ensure quality levels are being met.
  • Safely performs all packaging line duties, such as adding and removing inventory from locator racks, loading bins onto the packaging line, filling and weighing material in packaged containers, and properly labeling items.
  • Maintain equipment and housekeeping within work environment.
  • Support current and new safety initiatives/policies.
  • Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend and understand work instructions.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Must be able to operate fork truck, electric hoist, scales, and label machines.
  • Capable of lifting to 40lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, hand and finger manipulation, occasional stooping, crouching, and climbing.
  • Must be able to wear a face respirator.
