JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties:


  • The BC Hydro Shared Assets Team is responsible for managing all Third Party Licensee
requests to attach to the Distribution (Overhead and Underground) and Transmission (Towers and
Poles), and Telecom (Microwave Towers) assets. Customers include Telecom Carriers,
Municipalities, First Nations and Government Agencies.
Basic Purpose

  • To ensure the successful operation and administration of the Shared Assets business and to
maintain positive relationships with customers and internal / external stakeholders on behalf of BC
Hydro.

Responsibilities:


  • Efficiently and effectively manage a portfolio of thirdparty licensee projects from initial customer
request through the full project life cycle to attachment, and assume responsibility for the
successful completion of these projects of diverse complexity and risk.

  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen working relationships with external customers and
stakeholders; and with internal business partners such as Distribution Design, Engineering,
Indigenous Relations, Environment, Properties, Legal, Joint Use, Telecom and Program &
Contract Management.

  • Ensure attachment plans, including scope, budget, schedule and project team responsibilities
will accomplish customer project objectives.

  • Lead and coordinate interaction and discussion with various
interests and requirements between key stakeholders, customers, and BC Hydro.

  • Oversee implementation of attachment projects within agreed upon scope, timeline and budget.
Includes tracking status and performance of projects, and ensuring financial transactions are
completed.

  • Ensure the relevant terms of Master Service Agreements and business practices are applied in
implementing attachment projects.

  • Regularly meet and correspond with customers to coordinate work, provide project updates,
manage expectations, and resolve issues including operational and billing.

  • Develop and execute strategies to maximize synergies across multiple projects which are related
or have similar issues.

  • Support strategic initiatives to facilitate the delivery of work or improve processes and
procedures related to the attachment projects.

  • Develop and present status reports and briefing notes.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor degree or diploma in a relevant discipline such as engineering, business or commerce.
role(s) supporting the design and construction of electrical utility projects.- Working knowledge of BC Hydro attachment processes and requirements for licensees is an

asset.- Working knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, and design and construction practices

will be an asset.- Experience working on projects with and for large customers will be an asset.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, including strong interpersonal, business writing,
presentation, negotiating, and customer service skills.- Proven strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Please note we have up to three positions available. One of these three positions will be partially
- focused on business process improvement and the following duties:

  • Assess end to end process and find solutions to reduce cycle times and drive efficiencies.
  • Provide insights to management on current performance and business improvement
opportunities through analysis of data, systems, and processes.- Provide expertise in designing, developing and implementing business performance

measurement initiatives to support operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
