$127,275 - $165,445 per annum


POSITION LOCATION:
Notre Dame Campus (Winnipeg, MB)


DUTIES

Reporting to the Executive Director, Academic, the Dean will provide vision, high-quality strategic, innovative, academic and administrative leadership and direction to the school with programming on multiple campuses.

The Dean is committed to Truth and Reconciliation, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion which is evident in all aspects of their leadership style, decisions and interactions.

The Dean provides leadership to their leadership team for the design, implementation and oversight of the School's budget.

The Dean develops and maintains close relationships with external partners, and organizations and actively supports the advancement activities of the Polytech.

The Dean will ensure that all programming and projects offered by the School are relevant to meet current and emerging sector and community labour market needs.

Additionally, the Dean ensures that all programming and projects meet or exceed the Polytech's internal academic and external accreditation standards.


  • The Dean will also ensure that the School's learning, teaching, applied research and academic services support student success from admissions through to graduation. The Dean will also contribute to and share in the sustainability, wellbeing and growth of the Polytech through membership on the Senior Academic Committee and other governance bodies at the Polytech. The Dean has a dynamic entrepreneurial, academic and service focus.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A graduate degree in a related discipline or a combination of education and recent, relevant experience
  • Demonstrated success as a dynamic, innovative leader at a senior level
  • Demonstrated commitment to Truth and Reconciliation, antiracism, social justice, diversity and creating inclusive communities
  • Teaching experience
  • Human resource management experience including supervisory experience in a unionized environment
  • Experience with and skilled at change management, conflict resolution and negotiation
  • Adaptive in thinking and able to discern innovative solutions to new and emerging challenges
  • Experience in organizational planning, project and change management and financial management at the corporate or institutional level
  • Experience implementing strategic plans including performance management goals and objectives
  • A collaborative management style including building and sustaining teams within, between and across organizations, with a demonstrated strength in customer service, delivering results, handling complexity and thinking globally
  • Excellent interpersonal and group facilitative skills and the ability to initiate and develop effective partnerships and alliances with industry, liaison with all levels of government, associations and educational institutions and promotion of effective community relations
  • Innovative and creative problemsolver with a commitment to quality, service and accountability
  • Experience developing and implementing formal staff training or academic programs with a studentcentered approach to learning and a commitment to the philosophies of adult education and continuous learning
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Indigeneity, Traditional and Western approaches, ethical engagement and respectful collaboration with Indigenous Peoples, cultural safety education and practices, decolonizing curriculum, and other areas that complement our existing priorities and commitments
  • Leadership experience within a postsecondary education setting
  • Teaching experience
within the post-secondary education environment

  • Formal background in adult, administrative or higher education

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
