EARLY CHILDHOOD ASSISTANT POSITION
We are looking for an Early Childhood Assistant in either our Toddler or Preschool classroom (room to be determined).
Hours to be determined based on need. It may start with part-time hours and increase to full-time, or will start with full time right away. More can be discussed in the interviews.
- Pay amount will be dependent on the applicant's years of experience._
REQUIREMENTS
- Certified in Standard First Aid & CPR/AED (Level C)
- Have a clear police reference check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Current Immunization Record & Health Check
Minimum 1 year experience working within a child care classroom (eg. Toddler and/or Preschool classroom)
RESPONSIBILITIES (NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING)
- Assists Early Childhood Educator (ECE) in providing a highquality program in the classroom.
- Follows and implements school and ministry of education policies, behavioural practices, curriculum and procedures.
- Provides a clean, safe and supportive environment for the children and staff members.
- Assists ECE in planning, preparing and implementing the learning environment, setting up, and preparing materials.
- Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, children and families.
- Implements communication and documentation responsibilities (e.g. daily log, paperwork, updates through the app, activities etc).
- Punctual and consistent with attendance.
- Renews and maintains personal requirements documentation for the position (e.g. first aid certification).
