Research Assistants are normally students, in a University of Winnipeg undergraduate program, employed to assist with tasks related to research.

Work is performed within defined guidelines and under supervision of a more senior researcher or faculty member.


Position Overview:


Duties:


  • Perform academic research and experiments, monitor and document research status and findings:
  • Employee will perform empirical experiments and analyses of data and present insights.
  • Assist in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Employee will be responsible for implementing machine learning algorithms to analyze available data, make predictions, test predictive performances for different predictive models, and report findings.
  • Assist with duties related to the production of articles, publications, reports and presentations.
  • Employee will be responsible for preparing the Data Analysis and Results and Discussion sections for the manuscript.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business, or other related fields. Evidence of enrolment in or completion of graduate programs will be an added advantage.
  • Software: R or Python.
  • Research writing.

Condition(s) of Employment:

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.


The period of work will be from
June 3, August 30, 2024 and the estimated total hours of work will be
20-240 hours.

Note:
The work described in this posting will be conducted remotely, with weekly in person meetings required.
