Quality Control Supervisor - Delta, Canada - Latecoere Aerostructures Canada (Avcorp Industries)

In November 2022, Latecoere completed the acquisition of Canadian-domiciled Avcorp Industries, becoming Latecoere's Aerostructures Canadian unit.
Quality Control and Inspections Management
- Ensure inspection processes are performed in accordance with internal, customer and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure Inspection operations are conducted in accordance with the manufacturing plans.
- Manage training, competency, and performance of direct reports (Inspectors) to ensure personnel have the skills and knowledge to perform their assigned scopes of work.
- As required allocate competent Inspectors to accommodate changes to production schedules or disruption of planned resourcing.
- Approve direct reports work hours, planned time off and unplanned absence in UKG Pro.
- Work with Training Dept. to ensure competencies are developed and managed so that single points of failure are avoided.
- Act as liaison between Inspections, Production and Quality Engineering to settle differences and enforce required standards.
- Conduct interviews of applicants for new Inspector positions. Provide feedback to Director, Operations and Quality Assurance Manager for their final decision.
- Provide supervision to Calibrations Dept. and ensure calibration processes are followed as per set requirements.
- Support Quality by contributing to QC related root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
- Communicate any changes to the QC processes that are impacting the Inspections and calibrations.
- Initiate ideas for QC improvements and follow up as needed.
Qualifications:
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for this position.
- The ability to work within a team and perform effective conflict resolution are required.
- Degree/Diploma in manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, quality or other relevant discipline or equivalent experience are required.
- Exceptional problemsolving skills and judgement and ability to work with teams to develop solutions is necessary.
- Ability to undergo security clearance process for export controls: CGP, ITAR.
