Description

Durose Manufacturing Ltd, A leader and progressive manufacturer of fabricated Steel products, is seeking a Senior Estimator for their facility in Guelph.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Identifying labor, material and equipment needs and costs based on drawings and specifications.
Quantify number of hours to fabricate, machine OEM components.
Quantify number of hours to fabricate custom fabrications.
Quantify number of hours to fabricate structural and miscellaneous fabrications.
Summarize quantities, prepare spreadsheets for alternate and separate prices as required for tenders
Understanding and inputting information into our steel management software, which entails estimating, inventory control, and logistics tracking
Utilizing your ability and experience to conceptualize portions of estimates
Coordinating, consulting, and communicating with engineers, designers, owners, contractors and subcontractors as necessary and on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops
Perform any additional duties per manager's direction

Required Experience & Qualifications:

Postsecondary education and/or related industry/manufacturing/technical experienc
Minimum of 5 years' experience estimating metal fabricated products.
Experience in Machining estimation would be an asset.
Proficiency in MS Suites (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience reading plans and drawings
Ability to work under pressure due to tight timelines
Good basic interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and work well with others in a team environment and externally/ or independently.
Previous experience with estimating software and AutoCAD would be considered an asset.
