Role Overview:

As a Lead Character Artist, you will help us build realistic characters, inspire incredible artwork, help define our production techniques, maintain budgets while always being focused on the highest quality execution - with empathy and clarity being at the heart of who you are as a leader.


Responsibilities:


  • An understanding of modeling, texturing, anatomy, sculpting and topology that we can see exercised in your portfolio both in shipped game projects and in personal work.
  • Knowledge of at least one industry standard modeling package (preferably Autodesk Maya), a sculpting package (Preferably Zbrush) and a PBR compliant texturing package.
  • An understanding of working with photogrammetry, body/costume scanning and how to improve base meshes.
  • An expert level of knowledge in Marvelous designer.
  • You have a broad and experience in high to low polygon baking processes and construction of geometry to support facial and animation rigs.
  • The ability to write documentation where required and maintain production requirements such as standups, feedback and communication with peers.
  • Experience working with an Art Director to develop direction and quality goals and parsing that information to a team for precise execution.
  • Have experience with cross discipline collaboration as a core tenant of who you are as a leader.

Skills We Look For:


  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Lead Character Artist.
  • Photogrammetry experience.
  • A broad portfolio of realistic humanoid characters and outfits.
  • Experience with blend shapes, wrinkle maps and implementation for animation.
  • Experience in outsourcing and crossstudio collaboration.
  • Experience perfecting skin shaders and materials for a PBR realistic finish.

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations.

If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.


BASE SALARY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs.

Victoria):
o $93,700 - $143,700 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.

We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and after 3 months of service - extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
