    Description

    The Junior Geotechnical Driller will assist with the deployment of drill rigs, transporting, loading, and unloading equipment and logging information from the job site during drilling operations.

    Location:

    This full time position is based out of our Hockley Office and mainly in the field. This role assists the Senior Geotechnical Driller on site-based projects and candidate must have the ability for travel to various job sites when needed.

  • Field and Office with travel up to 90%
  • Accountabilities:

  • Assist the Senior Driller and help lead drilling operations of the rig by handling drill pipe, mixing drill mud, and handling casing and other equipment.
  • Assist in the mobilization of drilling rigs and/or cone trucks for jobs as directed. Load drill pipe, mud, and equipment.
  • Physically complete labor-intensive projects assigned by the Project Coordinator/Project Manager.
  • Assist with monitoring the performance of all equipment to identify maintenance and repair needs.
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning of equipment and work area as directed.
  • Complete all required paperwork as directed
  • Attend all safety meetings and comply with both company and client safety standards and programs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment, including equipment and job site areas.
  • Turn in all required paperwork to office on a daily basis.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities by Company safety rules and procedures
  • All other duties assigned by the Project Manager or Driller as required.
  • Qualifications:

  • Legally Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
  • Experience working around drilling and heavy equipment
  • Sufficient knowledge of geotechnical drilling techniques to be responsible for an entire project
  • Be available for drilling projects that require both in-state and out-of-state travel and overnight visits
  • CDL A License (an asset)
  • Geotechnical Drilling Experience - Soils Augers, Wet Rotary and Wireline Coring
  • Familiar with and following DOT and IFTA regulations.
  • Must have current driver's license with record in accordance with Company and DOT policies, class A license is highly preferred but not required.
  • TWIC card.
  • ISTC Basic Plus.
  • HAZWOPER 40 Hour Certification.
  • Previous drilling experience is a requirement.
  • Upon agreed probation period, employer will assist employee in obtaining required safety training and tickets for each project they work on. A list of training required will be provided to the employee and must be completed within agreed upon timeline. These courses may include but not limited to: H2s, OSHA 30, First Aid, CPR, Confined space, API 1169.
