Role Description:

Based in Vancouver, the Analyst, Project Management Office will report to the Manager, Project Management Office.

The Analyst is an integral member of the PMO and is a well-rounded, proactive, analytical, and organized individual that is responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and supporting the portfolio of corporate projects.

The Analyst is expected to maintain project portfolio data, perform data analysis, develop management reporting, and manage project portfolio finances and accounts payable.

The Analyst will also work with business and technology leaders to develop project business cases, develop improvements on PMO practices and tools, and provide guidance and support to project managers.

The Analyst will work closely with project managers, project sponsors, IT, Finance, Vendor Management, and interface with business leaders and senior executives.


Responsibilities:


  • Collect, prepare, and analyze project, portfolio, and financial data to identify and convey gaps, insights, risks, trends, variances, and other findings and propose strategies.
  • Monitor and maintain an accurate and consistent single source of truth of project portfolio and financial data.
  • Deliver and present regular and adhoc project and portfolio reports, dashboards, visualizations, and presentation materials to provide visibility into project performance, status, and key metrics to senior management.
  • Monitor project deliverables and documentation, including project plans, schedules, financials, risk registers, issue logs, change requests, lessons learned, and ensure other project artifacts are uptodate, accurate, and compliant with PMO practices.
  • Manage project finance function including accounts payable to ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices.
  • Collect, prepare, report, and evaluate project accruals, budgets, forecasts, and other financial activities as required by Finance.
  • Establish, facilitate, and maintain effective communication with project managers, project sponsors, and leaders from all levels of the organization and educate them on the PMO processes and tools.
  • Work as a business partner with business and IT leaders to develop and refine project proposals and contribute valueadded recommendations or suggestions to strengthen the business case.
  • Identify, research, develop, and implement continuous improvements to PMO practices and tools.
  • Support resource allocation, capacity planning, and utilization to ensure the right skills and personnel are available for projects, while considering financial constraints and make recommendations for optimizing resource management.
  • Other duties as required.

Experience, Qualifications & Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in business or commerce with specializations in business technology management, management information systems, project management, information technology, or a related discipline. Accounting or finance would be a plus.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problemsolving skills with knowledge of data analysis & reporting, project management & methodologies, change management, IT management and PMO practices.
  • Previous experience working in corporate IT and fastpaced environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and present results that articulate and convey key themes and messages. Ability to exercise strict confidentiality.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Must be able to allocate time effectively and work under pressure to meet deadlines, handle multiple demands and competing priorities, and adapt to new ideas and change. Comfortable following direction, but also contributing to the direction.
  • Must be proactive with the ability to use initiative to work well in a collaborative environment, with the ability to take guidance or use professional judgement and work independently.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel functions including PivotTables, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook. Knowledge of Smartsheet, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft Teams, and Yardi would be an asset.
