We have an excellent opportunity to start your career as Sheet Metal Worker.

Sheet Metal Worker includes jobs involved in the fabrication, modification, repair, assembly, and installation of sheet metal parts, items, and assemblies.

Metals include but are not restricted to galvanized and black iron, aluminum and aluminum alloys, stainless steel, copper, and brass sheets, lead alloys, and bronze.

What the job includes:
Lay outlines, reference points and dimensions on materials
Take job site measurements using tape measure, square, level and plumb bob
Cut, slot or notch work-pieces using snips, shears, nibblers, band saws or other similar hand or power tools
Shape work-pieces to specific configurations removing buckles and dents
Bend, bead, edge, swage or crimp work-pieces using hydraulic benders, press brakes, power brakes, bar folders, slip rolls and related equipment
Join sheet metal or related materials using lock seams, rivets or screws, pin spots, or by spot, arc or oxyacetylene welding
Prepare sketches and diagrams; estimates material requirements for specific jobs; recommends gauge of sheet metal
Keep minor records and performs simple administrative tasks
Meet all DOT, internal & customer quality requirements
Assist in training, directing & supervision of junior employees and apprentices, inspecting and certifying their work
Work safely & efficiently with mínimal supervision
Estimate and plan work on time & on budget
Repair, assemble and fabricate parts and components from drawings, Engineering Masters, process sheets & repair manuals
Use all phrases of manufacturing or repair, including but not limited to cutting, shearing, pin-routing, CNC routing, CNC programming, deburring, forming, pressing, hand working, heat treating, painting, plating, welding, spot-welding, tooling or jig manufacturing, painting (limited to as required basis for Repair & Overhaul Division) repair or setup & testing
Maintain a clean work area, & alert Supervisor of any safety concerns
Dismantle, inspect, record discrepancies, recommend & record methods of repair
Perform related duties as required

Must have grade 10 math and English
Must have high school transcript
Up to Date Resume
Ability to complete aptitude test

From $22.00 per hour
