_Heavy Civil Project Coordinator _

The Project Coordinator directly supports and coordinates the the execution of construction projects in a municipal sewer/water/road/highway and commercial/industrial site servicing construction environment.


In addition, the Coordinator directly supports and assists the Site Foreman and is responsible for permits, submittals, material tracking, coordinating deliveries and ordering, and assisting in cost control; ensuring the consistent support of all company policies and procedures.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Is responsible and accountable for coordinating the contract requirements for each project
  • Is responsible for scribing minutes and support for project and operation meetings
  • Has the ability to understand and communicate company policies and procedures
to support compliance in all areas.

  • Supports and assists the forman to coordinate the activities of field employees
  • Recognizes and addresses issue/problems that may arise on projects and facilitates solutions via the foreman or project management
  • Accountable for developing and documenting project plans and schedules, communicating to management on project activities to meet production goals
  • Identifies needs and deficiencies in the schedule and communicates these to the
appropriate persons

  • Assists foreman to translate general work requirements into a prioritized work plan for each crew
  • Identifies, verifies and reports any scheduling conflicts with other crews and
subcontractors to the appropriate persons

  • Assists in material requisitions and completion of daily fieldlogs, measurements, packing
slips, material tickets to the office in an orderly fashion

  • Participates in all site and management meetings
  • Facilities and generates invoices at month end to get payment

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess at least three (3) years in construction with field experience
  • A working knowledge of project construction scope and objectives to include water/sewer/road construction and reconstruction is an asset
  • Ability to utilize electronic tools (Laptop, Tablet etc)
  • Experience in use of software (CAD, Planswift, B2W, MS Project) is an asset
  • Ability to read drawings and interpret specifications for the project
  • Must possess a working knowledge of scheduling and planning
  • Must posses excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to apply
effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills

  • Must possess excellent time management skills
  • Must possess a clean Ontario driver's license
  • Must be able to stand, kneel, walk, lift, bend, stoop, push and pull
  • Must be able to work on average ten (10) hours per day, five days (and occasionally six
days) per week

  • All work is performed outdoors in Ontario weather and around live traffic areas

COMPENSATION:

  • Starting hourly rate will be determined by experience.

Salary:
$26.00-$30.00 per hour
