Job summary
Plant Operator is responsible for the safe operation of an Organic Processing Facility performing lab testing tasks including use of SCADA decision making and operating equipment.Responsibilities
- Control and operate automatic machines related equipment including pumps engines generators valves gates mixers conveyors blowers centrifuges chemical feed etc.
- Monitors flow meters gauges flow ratios pressures controls through instrument panels computer terminals programmable logic control units assigned area monitors records operating conditions observations data shift log use SCADA process monitoring systems control operate various equipments performs field tests pace chemical dosages process control units alter unit processes sample wastewater sludge gasses according schedule makes independent decisions concerning process control changes directs activities operators assigned shift ensures conformance process specifications diagnoses basic operational problems takes corrective action procedure verifies reports suspected malfunctions variances supervisor takes corrective actions performs manual labor filling emptying machine bins cleaning equipment facilities grounds required practice good housekeeping assigned area properly dispose waste safety environmental policies
