About Us:
Calgary Meals on Wheels exists to eliminate food insecurity throughout Calgary and promotes health and independence.
Each day approximately 4,500 affordable, quality, nutritious and locally prepared meals are produced and delivered through an engaged network of employees, volunteers, and donors.
The Position:
The Fund Development Coordinator (FDC) is a valuable member of the Philanthropy and Communications department and is responsible for seeking out grant opportunities, writing and submitting grants, corporate donations and sponsorships, and donor stewardship, as well as maintaining the donor database.
Primary responsibilities:
- Research new funding opportunities and their requirements
- Prepare and submit grant reports and followup to ensure funder satisfaction
- Meet with new and existing corporate donors to steward relationships and solicit funding
- Maintain the donor database specific to gifts and receipting

Qualification and Skills:
- Minimum 1 year experience in grant writing and postsecondary education in a relevant field that pertains to the nonprofit sector or business.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in fundraising including grant writing.
- A proven track record of successfully securing gifts through grants/proposals.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in accounting or moneyhandling, and experience working with financial software or databases.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Teams & previous CRM / database experience is an asset)
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Excellent organization skills
- Clean police check and vulnerable sector search
- Valid driver's license with clean 5year driver's abstract
