Job Description:

Featuring 200 guestrooms and suites and 16,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space, the Radisson Hotel Vancouver Airport in Richmond, British Columbia is seeking for a full time Sales Manager


Primary responsibilities include:

  • Achieving room night quotas and targeted room rate in assigned market segment(s)
  • Prospecting through telemarketing and outside sales solicitations
  • Participation in site tours, industry events, trade shows, sales blitzes and client entertainment as required
  • Preparation of proposals and contracts
  • Maintaining relationship with existing clients while developing new contacts
  • Traveling and conducting sales trips as required by position

Requirements:


  • Minimum 12 years hotel sales experience (preferably in the association group market) with proven sales track record
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong team player with commendable work ethics
  • Ambitious and resultoriented
  • Self motivated and disciplined and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to acquire new business for the Hotel through direct outside and inside sales efforts
  • Ability to achieve sales goals in assigned market segment(s)
  • Determination & ability to capture larger market share from the assigned market segment(s)
  • Existing clients in the Richmond and Vancouver area a definite asset
  • Willing to participate in trade shows, client events & other activities outside the normal business hours as required and assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills
  • Computer literacy, with knowledge of Microsoft word, Excel, Amadeus, and Opera
  • Ability to speak a second language a definite asset
  • Good negotiation skills and the ability to maximize hotel revenue potential
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines as required

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • RICHMOND, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- sales: 1 year (preferred)
