RSM is looking for a dynamic Tax professional to join our national Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Tax group. This is a rapidly growing consulting practice with significant advancement opportunities.

We advise multinational corporations, privately held companies, partnerships, and private equity firms on the tax aspects of planning, structuring, and executing M&A transactions.


Responsibilities:


  • Work as a part of a multidisciplinary transaction tax advisory team that focuses on delivering tax due diligence, tax structuring services, tax modeling and tax advisory/consulting services
  • Work with and assist other members of the M&A Tax practice with various technical tax issues dealing with CCPCs, public corporations, partnerships and international / crossborder M&A tax advisory mandates
  • Assist team with preparing federal, provincial & local tax returns along with any applicable election forms
  • Assists team members with tax due diligence, including reviewing target's historic tax profile, planning, tax examination, acquisition/disposition, and filing history to assess potential risks and opportunities
  • Assist team members with various advisory mandates including reorganizations, presale planning (buy side and sell side), tax structuring for financings, debt restructurings, recapitalization transactions, safe income computations, modeling, and general tax transaction support
  • Completing tax planning and research
  • Managing multiple engagements simultaneously and working with colleagues across Canada as well as the RSM global network of firms

Qualifications:


  • 1 year of experience in a public accounting firm or a corporate tax department (Could be a combination of coop terms and internships)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
  • Planning to pursue the CPA designation
  • Ability to handle multiple engagements
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to work effectively on a team
  • Ability to work and multitask in a fastpaced environment

Compensation Range:
$51,040 - $60,900

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
