Elgin Manor "the home where the heart is" is a 90 bed long-term care facility located in the Township of Southwold just minutes outside of St.

Thomas, ON


Responsibilities:


As a certified Personal Support Worker, you have the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to provide care and attention to the personal needs of all residents of the Home in accordance with established routine procedures.

As a valued member of the nursing team, the Personal Support Worker assists residents with their daily needs which includes, but is not limited to, transfers, bathing, serving meals, making beds, performing minor treatments, daily reports, emptying laundry carts, answering call bells, ensuring residents' rooms are tidy, as well as any additional duties the supervisor assigns.

What can you expect as an employee?

  • Competitive compensation based on experience and years of service. Our PSW salary is $ $26.22/hr and will receive 14% in lieu of benefits and 4% vacation pay, paid every pay.

Qualifications:


  • Must be a graduate of a Personal Support Worker program from a recognized postsecondary institution.
  • Must be willing to further training/education of the Personal Support Worker field through inservices, etc.
  • Current knowledge regarding Health & Safety Procedures, Resident Bill or Rights, and Long Term Care Homes Act.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the delivery of safe, efficient care to the personal needs of residents.

Conditions of Employment:


  • Successful completion of a police record check with vulnerable sector clearance.
  • Satisfactory TB documentation.
