Lactalis is one of Canada's leading producers of premium quality food products including milk, cheese, and yogurt. We are currently recruiting a Panel Assistant to join our team at our Toronto facility which produces yogurt.

The Milk Processing (Panel) Assistant is responsible for maintaining all process equipment which includes sanitary maintenance, pumps, valves, homo, separator etc.

They also operate and assist with AZO, Milk Receiving and support Panel Operators (Relief). Additionally, the Operator performs adjustments to the process as required and trouble-shoots equipment problems, and sanitary maintenance as needed.

Job Duties

Dairy experience required
Complete all assigned work and accurately document completion of work
Adding cultures to tanks using a recipe, including handling of cultures and inoculation
Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs, Health & Safety, Food Safety & Environmental Standards
Sanitary maintenance and equipment assembly
Maintain hygienic process environment to ensure quality of product through Clean in Place (CIP) and CIP titration
Dry ingredient (AZO) room set up, including loading bulk powders into bins
Previous experience with sanitary maintenance of valves and pumps
Milk receiving the delivery of raw milk, milk in these containers has to be graded, emptied, measured by weight or volume, sampled and bulked to provide continuity of supply to the pasteurizing equipment.
Any other duties as required

Skills and Experience

Strong mechanical skills (need to be capable of independently dissembling / assembly all equipment in the department with sufficient training.
Computer Skills including SAP, MS Office, working knowledge of basic maintenance management software (SAP) would be an asset
Strong verbal and written communication
Previous knowledge and experience with pneumatics and controls.
Previous experience mechanical or trade experience preferred
WHMIS and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
Forklift experience and license (asset)
This position requires heavy lifting 50 lbs and up
Milk Grader Certificate an asset

SHIFT:
Thursday - Monday 2.00 pm pm, hours may be modified on occasion to meet business needs.
