***Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, The Human Resources Manager plays a vital role in overseeing a wide range of human resources. As our Human Resources Manager, you will manage the daily human resources activities and be a strategic consultative partner to the leadership team. Further to this, the HR Manager will create an efficient workplace that supports organizational growth by balancing the Institute's and employees' needs with proven capabilities to establish effective relationships with internal and external key groups. The HR Manager will oversee all aspects of HR including full cycle recruitment in collaboration with department Directors and or Managers, solving workplace issues as they arise and assist in the facilitation of training and development of employees. This role is paramount in the promotion of our company culture and values, execution of our people initiatives, driving HR functional excellence, and process improvement in a location of 30 full time employees and approximately 65+ contract employees and growing.

You will be key to assisting in cultivating relationships, keeping employees engaged and building a culture of collaboration within Oshki

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement and maintain consistent HR activities across all departments
  • Responsible for the oversight of HR staff
  • Lead and mentor HR employees by sharing your knowledge
  • Act as a resource for team members and leadership on employee relation issues.
  • Develop, revise, and implement HR strategies, policies and procedures aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Manage the full employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, training and development, performance management, and separation processes.
  • Advise and support Managers and Directors on HRrelated matters, including employee relations, conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, including employee recognition programs, employee surveys, and performance feedback mechanisms.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, and employment law and regulations.
  • Develop job descriptions to reach targeted talent pool that can be used with a variety of platforms such as, Indeed, media websites, print and fax.
  • Conduct internal confidential workplace investigations and ensure appropriate documentation when required.

Other Duties

  • Take personal responsibility to increase sensitivity, awareness, and implementation of Oshki-Wenjack's cultural teachings and organizational practices in both professional conduct and workrelated deliverables.
  • Access and utilize Elders and Knowledge holders for teachings and guidance as it relates to work deliverables.
  • Be prepared to work in conjunction with the philosophy and mandate of the Institute.
  • Adhere to the Policies and Procedures as set by the Institute.
  • Always maintain professionalism.
  • Adhere to the Code of Ethics and positive relationship building.
  • Regular attendance and conduct at work according to the requirements of Oshki-Wenjack's Policies and Procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Required

  • University degree or a Diploma with 5 years' experience in Human Resources
  • Proficient in Microsoft
