Description
Insituform Technologies Limited is looking for an experienced Field Technician/ Engineer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide technical and operational direction and project management principles to the planning, design and operation of rehabilitative and inspection projects.

Review estimates for assigned projects.
Site visits to assess traffic requirements, work shift type for prep and lining.
Update the system with findings from site visits.
Discuss with the Project Manager any issues found in the field that haven't been captured in the estimate that has potential to affect scheduling
Discuss safety issues if any identified in the field with PM, GS and Safety Manager
Attend pre-bid, pre-construction and project status meetings with customers as needed.
Assist field crews with delivering 48hrs notices to residents, when needed.
Ensure construction operations are well organized and coordinated.
Make all necessary arrangements for site traffic controls.
Prepare work packages for scheduled work for all field crews.
Reviewing prep videos and finals for concerns and escalating potential issues as well as updating the system.
Maintain strong working relationships at job sites with field leadership and crews.

Communicate with Regional Managers, Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen and other field crews to provide details on project parameters, project changes, issues, etc.

Act as liaison between field and office.
Perform regular site visits to assess project progress and crew productivity.
Provide excellent standards of customer service to maintain a positive company image and ensure customer satisfaction with received service.

QUALIFICATIONS
Project Management Certificate, Diploma in Construction Management, Engineering Degree, or Technical Diploma from an accredited technical institution.
3-5 years related field construction management experience.
Approximately 30% travel.
Ability and willingness to be on site 50% of the time.
Previous experience in water/sewer or municipal environment is an asset.
Ability to plan, schedule and assign work of crews including training and communication updates

Must have a solid understanding of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and databases, Microsoft Project and JD Edwards software experience an asset.

Ability to complete applicable reports, calculations, records and administrative tasks
Strong communication skills and the ability to give presentations
