Responsibilities:


  • Be the focal point for climate change resilience in the region and manage the regional network of practitioners
  • Cascade the objectives and priorities of the Global Practice down to the Unit level, considering the needs of the NASA Practice and market
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and good practice development, as well as skills planning, people development, and technical governance for climate resilience services in the region
  • Lead Mott MacDonald's inputs to and participation at regional scale external climate change events and profileraising activities (e.g. New York Climate Week)
  • Contribute to the development of digital tools for climate resilience, including climate change risk assessment and climate data tools
  • Work with practitioners in the region and beyond (including those in the International Development Services and Advisory units) to lead and deliver climate resilience projects
  • Grow a team of experts to support the delivery of climate resilience bids and projects in the US
  • Develop a business plan for climate change resilience services as part of the advisory sector in NASA
  • Identify market opportunities, client needs and skills requirements
  • Identify opportunities to support the NASA growth strategy, including partnership networks and (if appropriate) acquisitions to support growth of the delivery team.
  • Support Key Account Leaders in NASA with integration of resilience services for clients
  • Requirements:
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in climate resilience and related topics e.g. climate change risk assessment, disclosure, adaptation planning, climate finance, climate policy
  • Nationally recognised expert in climate resilience and/or professionally qualified with relevant professional body
  • An ability to build networks and develop a sense of community for the Climate Change Practice
  • Confidence in liaising with and influencing senior colleagues across the business
  • Confidence in communicating ideas and technical information through reports, briefings, workshops and presentations (internal and external)
  • Strong appreciation of the prevailing market conditions in the region, key clients, competitors, and supply chain
  • Strong commercial track record in winning and delivering climate resilience advisory services to clients
  • Strong track record in thought leadership and developing new methods, tools, approaches and guidance on climate resilience
  • Experience in delivering climate resilience advisory services to infrastructure clients in North America (e.g. infrastructure owners and operators, regulators, investors in the transportation, energy, water sectors)
  • Team leadership
