Purpose of the job


Maintains the critical database of the SAP system to properly reflect the structures and process involved to manufacture and package the products.

Coordinates, documents, manages and executes the necessary actions of product changes requested by clients and by Jubilant's internal operations.

Acts as liaison with all departments regarding changes to existing or new products and coordinates the efficient transition of changes or additions through all production processes.

Works closely with planners, product managers and purchasing and the packaging department to ensure timely availability of components for new products.

Works with accounts managers, buyers and planners towards minimization of inventory write-offs, timely availability of new components and helps facilitate operations during the transition period.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Creates material master, BOM's, product routings including; operation sequences, work center maintenance, setup and machine standard hours, and setup codes for all new products.
  • Initiates other product and component codes creation in SAP as required
  • Maintains accurate material master and product structures in the SAP system for all existing products.
  • Initiates Change Control documents for changes of BOM's due to new artworks for packaging components and for other components' changes.
  • Performs material and product SAP changes and deletions according to the received approved requests.
  • Responsible for preparing cost estimates of artwork charges and inventory writeoffs due to artwork changes requested by clients.
  • Maintain uptodate the New Product Introduction master file used by the Supply Chain group
  • Facilitates the implementation of new artworks and regular artwork changes, working closely with the planning and purchasing groups and through the regular communications with the client and by coordinating activities of all respective Jubilant' departments and Jubilant's suppliers.
  • Acts as a liaison to negotiate product change timelines with the client in order to minimize writeoffs of old components and to ensure efficient implementation process
  • Provides clients with technical guidelines, verifies new artworks for compliance with Jubilant's packaging line requirements and requests corrections if required
  • Coordinates activities of various Jubilant's departments (QA, QC, Shipping, Warehouse, Logistics, Technical Writers, Commercial Group) to execute other changes channelled by the client
  • Coordinates trial runs of changes when necessary through the entire production process and evaluates any effect of change on material.
  • Attends new product launch taskforce. Creates shipping case labels in BarTender according to client's requirements meeting JHS's norms
  • Creates pallet design in BarTender for shipments of FG to the clients
  • Verifies new artworks for compliance with Jubilant's packaging line requirements and requests corrections if required.
  • Notifies finance and project managers of cost impact on the finished product due to increased cost of new components.
  • Keeps track of all products changes by maintaining an uptodate status report
  • Maintains accurate files of all current and anterior versions of original proofs approved by the clients for the packaging components
  • Coordinates the process of color standards' approvals, between suppliers and clients, to provide Jubilant's QC with proper documentation for components release.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by Management, including support to another CMO site.

Education and Experience:


  • DEC in Logistics or Inventory Management.
  • CPIM designation (or equivalent) an asset
  • 3 to 5 years of supply chain experience
