As an important member of the community recreation team the Day Camp Program Leader is responsible for planning active fun and engaging programs for children and youth aged 3 to 13 years Preparing and leading a variety of indoor and outdoor activities along with leading exciting out trips the successful applicant will have a positive impact on the families whose children are in attendance Get ready for spring break fun with this opportunity to play like a kid again Plans and leads safe healthy and enjoyable activities crafts and games for up to 30 children 3-13 years per week Provides learning guidance on appropriate behaviour during play activities Delivers care support with behaviour management inclusion first aid other areas relating to caring for children Organizes plans out trips to various locations within Salt Spring Island Drives passenger bus within Salt Spring Island planned out trips Monitors distribution use program supplies equipment Ensures that program supply needs are within provided budget Provides direction guidance assistant leaders volunteers assisting with program operation Acts as liaison between general public CRD providing clear customer communication parents caregivers Maintains clean safe environment children their care Excellent customer service communication organizational interpersonal public relations skills experience required Follows all policies procedures standards CRD Performs other related duties as required Some paid planning training development will be scheduled March 9 -13 candidates participation is required role Experience leading activity planning recreational programs school age children Leadership abilities including role model behaviours sound judgement creating positive enthusiastic safe fun program environment Excellent verbal written communications interpersonal customer service skills High School Graduation Some directly related experience Childhood development or recreational program planning certification HIGH FIVE equivalent Acceptable criminal record check applicant/incumbent undergoes criminal record check work position report supervisor if any criminal charges laid may be related employment Standard First Aid CPR-C Valid BC Drivers Licence Class Unrestricted Driver Abstract Applications welcome all qualified applicants apply consider combination experience education/training possible Value diversity people hire serve encourage applications people diverse backgrounds abilities lived experiences Let know require accommodation application selection process Confidential request sent
