The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team helps to drive overall business performance by challenging and supporting critical decision making through the delivery of insightful analysis, action-oriented reporting and the design and management of planning and forecasting processes that meet both Corporate and Operational requirements.

We ensure maximum impact through clear messaging, presentation, effective business partnering with senior management stakeholders and focused communication of group strategic and financial goals.

This role supports the Store Operations team by reporting and analysis store performance metrics such as labour, sales and four wall profitability.

Responsibilities:


Pet Valu Canada is seeking a Financial Analyst to support Store Operations by monitoring and reporting on store labour, sales performance and four wall profitability.

In the role of Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for the following:


  • Participate in the internal financial communication processes. Be involved in Budgeting, Forecasting and Reporting processes for Store Operations.
  • Collaborate and support a variety of stakeholders to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of store labour and key operating metrics as required.
  • Contribute to the implementation of relevant KPIs, dashboard and monitoring tools. Provide adhoc data analysis to Management when required.
  • Be the key contributor in regular reporting on business performance.
Experience, Education, Certifications
_(List minimum required to enter the role.)_

  • Posses at least 1 year experience with exposure to financial and management reporting on sales, selling, general and administrative expenses is desired.
  • Prior financial experience in a brick and mortar retail environment is desired with exposure to financial systems and business intelligence tools. NAV, Tableau, Adaptive or experience with comparable tools is required.
  • Demonstrate a solid base of financial knowledge and accounting standards is essential.
  • Selfdriven and highly motivated individual. Someone who displays precision, attention to detail, and proficiency with systems and technology.
  • Excellent working knowledge of tools such as Excel and PowerPoint as wee as data manipulation skills to fulfill reporting requirements.
