- Take initiative to lead a URD team.
- Coordinate material pickup and delivery.
- Direct tradespersons (Electrician / Gas Fusers) as required.
- Provide direction and guidance to heavy equipment operators, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and assist in other activities.
- Assist in installing various utilities and being familiar with specification requirements with Fortis, Atco Gas, Shaw/Rogers and TELUS shallow installation practices.
- Knowledgeable in blueprint reading and provide as built drawings at the end of the project.
- Operate pneumatic tools, tampers and tools, as directed.
- Direct traffic at or near construction sites.
- Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed.

- High School Diploma
- 5 years' experience working in the construction industry as a URD Foreperson, on utilities (electrical/civil) projects.
- Ability to work safely
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Possess a valid Alberta Drivers License, Class 5 (or 3), and a clean drivers abstract
- Experience in reading and interpreting utility locates/ blueprint drawings, and ordering materials such as aggregates
- Ground Disturbance Certification
- Construction Safety Certifications including the following are considered assets.Traffic Control Person (TPS) CertificationFlagging CertificationConfined Space Awareness/RescueFall ArrestWHMISFirst AidLeadership for Safety Excellence (LSE)

Based in Calgary, the URD Foreperson is responsible for performing and leading general activities on year round , underground URD distribution construction sites in Calgary and surrounding areas. They will lead tradespersons and other site personnel to accomplish project milestones in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
