Description

Primary Function:
Complete the sand cast parts to ensure that they meet specified secondary operation and part surface finishing requirements.

Tools & Equipment:
Hand Grinders, Die Grinders and measuring devices including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators. Safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, and suitable gloves.

Education / Knowledge:
Basic familiarity with the use of manual and electric hand tools.

Skills / Competencies:

-
works under minimum direction from the Finishing Supervisor.
-
effectively grinds surplus metal off castings.
-
applies basic metrology and uses hand measuring instruments - micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.
-
inspects work in accordance with drawing and specifications and identifies part non-conformances.
-
applies close mental and visual attention involving close tolerances.
-
sets up machines and completes work within expected periods of time.
-
minimizes scrap and rework.
-
communicates well with the Finishing Supervisor.
-
works safely avoiding lost time injuries.
-
minimum absenteeism and is punctual.
-
completes shop records accurately and completely.
-
performs other work as assigned by the Finishing Supervisor.

Afternoon Shift:
3:30pm-11:30pm

From $18.00 per hour
