Description

Our Top Prospects interns will be assigned to a core department but will also have the opportunity to work closely with other departments.


Internships are available in the following departments:
Business Intelligence

Our Business Intelligence (BI) team works closely with the ticketing, marketing, and partnership departments in the organization. They are responsible for developing reports, analyzing results, providing CRM support, and providing data-driven recommendations to support these departments. Example projects include managing and tracking ticket inventory, survey planning and execution, and fan insight reports. Experience with Excel, SQL, and Python is required for the BI internship.

Communications

The Communications department collaborates with colleagues, industry peers, and media touchpoints to ensure all media requests are handled effectively.

The Communications interns will be responsible for setting up media areas on game days, daily media monitoring, collecting statistical and historical data, distributing media credentials, and producing media publications such as game day previews, recaps, and media guides.

Communications interns will work game nights as needed and are required to have excellent written communication skills.

Community Engagement & Social Impact


The Community Engagement & Social Impact team aims to connect and engage with our fans and is partnered with community initiatives such as the Canucks for Kids Fund, the Canucks Autism Network, and the Canucks Family Education Centre.

They participate in various community events throughout the year and are responsible for minor hockey programs at Rogers Arena and the donation in kind program.

Community Engagement & Social Impact interns will also support our Tickets for Kids, Fan Mail, and Fin's Friends programs and will be required to work community events, game nights and weekends as needed.

Experience with Excel is required for this internship.

Content

Corporate Partnerships


The Corporate Partnerships (CP) Intern will support the Partnership Sales and Marketing teams by collecting data, creating sales and inventory reports, and deriving conclusions from these reports.

They will also manage and update the client database and inventory tracker and will support sponsorship innovations and strategies through data analytics, researching and reporting on industry best practices, and working on special projects for the department.

The CP Intern will be required to work game nights and partner events as needed.

Event Services

The Event Services intern will be responsible for the planning, execution, and management of small events at Rogers Arena. This includes preparing all required event documentation, reviewing all event reports, and following up on action items.

They will also have the opportunity to take on special projects and shadow our Event Managers on planning and managing large scale events like Canucks games and concerts.

This intern will be required to work event nights and weekends as needed and will start on August 5, 2024.

Fan Services

Finance


The Finance Intern will have the opportunity to interact with and shadow senior members of the Finance team and with various departments across the organization.

They will be responsible for a multitude of tasks including processing invoices, verifying expense reports, updating balance sheet reconciliation working papers, and completing bank reconciliations.

Game Entertainment

Game Entertainment is responsible for planning and executing in-game features including on-ice contests, in-stand promotions, and concourse activities.

This department also creates scripts and organizes special requests for each game so that all entertainment features run smoothly and on schedule.

The Game Entertainment Intern will coordinate prizing, props, and equipment, manage groups and special messages, and assist with managing our part-time event staff.

They will be required to work game nights as needed.

Graphic Design

Health & Safety


The Health & Safety Intern will work closely with our Event Services team and will be responsible for creating monthly safety focuses for our staff, completing monthly inspections, liaising with St John's Ambulance regarding event first aid, and reviewing safety data.

They will also have the opportunity to work closely with our Health & Safety Manager to learn about safety training for staff, assist with new staff safety orientations, and how to create safe work procedures.

This internship will start on August 5, 2024.

Information Technology

The Information Technology (IT) department services not just Canucks Sports & Entertainment but all Aquilini Group companies.

The IT intern will assist the team in setting up equipment for new employees, monitoring inventory of computer equipment, and providing first-level support to employees on hardware and software issues as they arise.
