Manager, Patient Support Services at

Surrey Memorial Hospital in Surrey, BC.


As a key member of the leadership team, you are responsible for managing and providing site leadership through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and promoting culture of patient and employee safety.

You will work closely with a variety of stakeholders at Surrey Memorial Hospital site.


Be part of a collaborative, dynamic team as you:

  • Lead, manage and coordinate through coordination of various administrative and operational activities for SMH; including those that impact quality improvement, patient-centered care, and congestion measures.
  • Foster supportive environment through engagement, innovation, individual and team achievements.
  • Collaborate with staff and stakeholders to support timely and effective discharge plans and quality improvement.
  • Work with Service Providers to support delivery of safe, appropriate, and quality care.
  • Develop and recommend long and short term fiscal planning including resource allocations for existing and new programs.
  • Lead selected projects and new program development through to implementation while taking corrective action to ensure project objectives are met
  • Participate in product evaluation, monitoring and selection of materials and equipment within the scope of infection control and epidemiology.
  • Ensures the implementation of current human resource standards and procedures, including performance evaluation, education and orientation as well as compliance with applicable acts, regulations and collective agreements.

Are you motivated to join our team? We will be looking for you to have the following:

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in Health Sciences, Business, or related field
  • Plus seven (7) years' recent related experience within a large and/or complex acute care setting
  • Including two (2) years in a leadership role

Detailed Overview:

Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:

The Manager, Patient Support Services, is responsible for providing leadership through consultation, management and coordination of administrative and operational activities, and management of people and resources, for Surrey Memorial Hospital.

Leads selected projects/initiatives, and assists in the optimization and improvement of site operations including those related to quality, capacity and congestion.

Plans and implements programs and services to ensure the development of isolation and precaution strategies and the surveillance, investigation and reporting of nosocomial infections, in order to minimize risk of infection to patients, staff and visitors.

Maintains effective communications, prioritizes and advises on the status of clinical services(s) objectives.
