Position Summary
Are you someone who has a real passion for helping others? Are you a Pharmacy Assistant looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an exciting opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Pharmacy department.
- The Pharmacy Assistant I, working under the close supervision of a pharmacist, dispenses, compounds, packages and distribute drugs and medications; prepackages and labels tablets and capsules; utilizes computerized pharmacy purchasing program to generate short lists and Purchase Orders; types correspondence and reports and performs a variety of reception and clerical duties.
Prince Rupert Regional Hospital is the largest hospital in northwest BC with 27 acute care beds. They offer emergency services, ultrasound, CT scans, surgery, extended care, pediatrics, radiology, and obstetrics. Additional services such as diabetes education, health heart and rehabilitation, podiatry, orthopedics and other visiting specialists.

Qualifications
- Grade 12, graduation from a Pharmacy Assistant course, plus oneyear recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
- Ability to type
- Ability to organize work
- Ability to operate related equipment
