This is an exciting opportunity to join and help develop staff in one of the leading Cardiac programs in Alberta.

The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) for Cardiac Cath Lab, cardiac recovery and Device OR, uses principles of learning and assessment plans, implements and evaluates education needs, facilitate, coordinate and support the implementation of education initiatives for orientation, mandatory education and in services as well as continuing education.

Other duties include promoting the clinical competence of staff through changes in policy/procedures and protocols and technology. Liaising and collaborating with CNE's at other sites to enhance cardiac practice throughout the zone and program is essential.


Description:

As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator.

You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development.

You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice.

You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).


Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to provide staff education programs. Recent Cardiac Cath Lab experience.

As Required.
