Sales and Marketing Manager

SITUATION IN ORGANIZATION
Reports to the Director, Arkema Canada Inc. with strategic direction from Business Unit
Leadership and Management
Close interactions with Product Managers, R&D, Supply Chain and the global organization
High visibility position having contacts with all levels of management, in North America and at
the Global Headquarters in Europe


JOB DIMENSIONS
The Sales and Marketing Manager will be the key driver for Arkema Canada's growth.
The jobholder will have a dual role of Business Development and Account Management for
various Markets and Business Units in Canada.


KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Business development for ARKEMA products in Canada - 50%
solutions in Canada, such as Mining, Batteries, Hydrogen, Composites, Fertilizers, Adhesives,
Energy etc.
Determine the size and timing of new opportunities and lead development projects
Drive customer/market development projects through full commercialization
Conduct frequent customer meetings, develop relationships, build a climate of trust
Identify market needs beyond single customer opportunities
Conduct value chain analysis, market research, and competitive environment assessment
Define, execute or request the right level of technical service required to support the business
development activity
Sales account management - 30%
Business Units
Provide ongoing technical and commercial customer support
Develop sales strategy and plan for key accounts: maintain customer profiles including customer
capacity and process information, products used and demand volumes, competitor share
information, expansion plans and organization structure
Identify and foster relationships at all levels of the customers' organization.
Prepare sales presentations, contracts and commercial proposals
Identify and propose improvements to optimize customer operations and develop/implement
value-added solutions
Promote Responsible Care practices with our customers
Marketing and Communication activities - 10%
Participate in trade shows and attend industry conferences
May write articles, give papers, and attend conferences
Ability to bring growth opportunities at the Business Unit level
Reporting / internal communication and processes - 10%
Use Arkema CRM system to support and report activity
Write monthly activity reports
Deliver activity summary presentations to peers and upper management (Project portfolio
reviews, sales meetings etc.)
Network with peers across Business Units, R&D, Sales and Business development groups


CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT
Support and promotes the reporting of all HSE, near-miss, accident or injury incidents
Support the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
Proactively interact and communicate with business, supply chain, customer service and R&D to
ensure consistent flow of information, problem resolution, and alignment with business
objectives. Proficient in Arkema products and solutions. Deliver presentations and information
to other business units to increase awareness/understanding of products/solutions/customers
Willing to travel 35% of time or more


REQUIRED EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS /WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in Polymers, Chemistry, Materials Science or Chemical Engineering is required;
MS or MBA is a plus
A minimum of ten years' experience in Business Development or Technical Sales
Demonstrated success in developing new products/customers and penetrating new markets
Experience in the Chemical industry
Knowledge of key business law

French language a plus
