What do you offer?


The Team Supervisor works as a team member to contribute to quality service delivery and achievement of program goals while establishing and nurturing an effective working relationship with Language Program providers (both federally and provincially funded), the Association and the community.

In addition to conducting assessments, the Team Supervisor is responsible for the overall management, leadership and on-site supervision of the language assessment program as well as additional administration tasks to ensure quality control of assessment delivery.

This is a contract from May 27, 2024 to January 27, 2025.


Some of the tasks of this position include:

  • Administering the CLBA, CLBPT, ELTPA, CLBLA, and/or other related assessment tools according to the principles and procedures outlined in the CET and the CCLB training, the YMCA, CIC, and MCCSS policies and standards at the Language Assessment Centre.
  • Referring clients to the most appropriate training provider, based on language benchmarks and individual client needs.
  • Coordinating the staff schedule.
  • Scheduling and coordinating staff's assessment tool training and other relevant trainings.
  • Uploading client information to the iCARE database.
  • Collecting and entering client data into the HART database.
  • Maintaining appropriate supply of testing tools, and ordering supplies as needed.

What qualifications and abilities are we looking for?

Education

  • Postsecondary education or equivalent in a related field

Language

  • Fluent in English and French, oral and written
  • Other languages are an asset

Experience, Skills and Abilities

  • Possession of a TESL or TFSL certificate
  • Experience teaching English and/or French as a second language, and/or assessing English and/or French language benchmarks
  • Experience working with newcomers or immigrants or in a multicultural environment
  • Meet the Assessor criteria set forth by the Centre for Education and Training to become a CLBA Assessor
  • Strong computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and database programs
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity, interviewing skills, documentation skills, and decisionmaking skills
  • Able to maintain accurate, uptodate client files and documentation of services delivered
