Note:
This is a temporary position starting January 06, 2024, and ending March 31, 2025.


This position will teach English language skills and job finding skills to LINC eligible students who are looking for work.
Please note that only applicants with Languages Canada approved TESL certification and 3 years of instructional experience teaching adults will be considered.

ome evening work is required.

Position Summary
This position reports to the Associate Dean, SGA.


Position Responsibilities and Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Provides Quality Instruction

  • Instructs SGA courses as assigned.
  • Develops and delivers educational content in facetoface, online, and blended learning environments.
  • Evaluates learner performance on an ongoing basis and provides learners and administrators with learner progress reports.

Provides a Positive Educational Learning Experience

  • Meets with learners regarding any academic issues (for example: attendance; conduct, performance).
  • Identifies areas of concern and refer to the Program Chair if follow up is necessary.
  • Ensures that any special student accommodations are met (for example: reduced course load, vision impairments, hearing impairments, testing).

Builds and Maintains Relationship with Internal and External Stakeholders and promote the Department and the College

  • Keeps current regarding changes in best practice and adapts curriculum as required.

Other Duties /Special Projects

  • Follows College Policies and Procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with Languages Canada approved TESL certification.
  • 3 years instructional experience teaching adults.
  • ELL teaching experience.
  • Proven research track record in social innovation and educational technology.
  • An equivalent combination of directly related education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching learners in other settings an asset.
  • Strong working knowledge of CLBs and portfoliobased language assessments.
