Responsibilities:


PRIMARY PURPOSE


This role is responsible for the analysis and delivery of HR data analytics to enable data-driven decision making at TransLink and its operating companies.

It provides HR and Business Leadership team with strategic insights in areas of people metrics, HR reporting, data analytics and predictive analytics.

The role designs and develops standard and ad-hoc HR reports including HR scorecards/dashboards and executive presentations. This role also engages with HR and business stakeholders, collaborating with them to understand the business background and requirement. It acts as a liaison between HR and the technical teams translating functional requirements into data reporting solutions.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


Designs, develops and maintains standard and ad-hoc HR reports, scorecards/dashboards, executive presentations and analysis on key HR metrics for TransLink and its operating companies; proactively identifies reporting improvement opportunities.

Provides HR and Business Leadership with insights, forecasts and analysis based on the data.


Leads the design and development of HR data analytics and reports to identify and forecast workforce patterns and trends; translates those insights into recommendations.


Engages in cross departmental and divisional conversations with HR and business stakeholders to understand business background and expectation towards data.

Develops a data governance framework for the definition of HR data, metadata elements, data mapping and specification tables.

Audits, monitors and maintains data integrity by creating standards, policies, processes and controls over how data elements are setup, used, revised and maintained within HR systems and across the TransLink enterprise.

Develops and maintains procedural documentation for reporting from HR systems for reference, training and support purposes.


Provides consultative guidance to internal stakeholders and assists with identifying and scoping incoming HR analytics requests to working through analysis and proposing appropriate solutions.

Compiles, analyzes, and submits HR data to comply with internal and external reporting or other legislative HR requirements.

Maintains awareness of best practices, including processes and business intelligence tools, and finds opportunities for improvement of existing functionality. Liaises with technical stakeholders to support reporting tool enhancements and reporting solutions.


Qualifications:


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


The competencies for this position can be acquired through successful completion of a bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or other relevant discipline plus five (5) years of experience in data management and analytics within a large corporate and complex unionized environment.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Extensive knowledge of HR best practices and deep understanding of relational databases

Experience with data mapping and logical data modelling

Experience with BI reporting tools and reporting analytics software

Experience with data management, data visualisation tools, designing reports and dashboards

Advanced knowledge of HR system functionalities including query and reporting tools

Advanced skills in data mining and manipulation

Critical thinking skills to identify trends and provide insight into results and provide recommendations

Solid interpersonal and communications skills to provide recommendations and presentations

Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills to determine the optimum approach in providing reporting solutions

High efficiency in MS excel

Recruitment Process:

An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process.
