WHAT YOU WILL DO:


  • Assist the Commodities department with the management of the North American natural gas, electricity and carbon portfolios;
  • Procure client natural gas requirements in the market to ensure deliveries and contractual obligations are met;
  • Host Request for Quotation (RFQ) procurement process to meet specific client BPS requirements;
  • Provide recommendations to clients on market trends and portfolio strategies;
  • Management of key client accounts within the commodities portfolio;
  • Grow and develop the buying and selling of natural gas and electricity contracts;
  • Assist in the development and growth of green supply (RSG, RSNG), offset and REC portfolios;
  • Negotiation of energy supply, utility and regulatory contracts;
  • Prepare and deliver briefing materials to provide analysis on key issues on energy markets with a focus on North American commodity markets;
  • Provide analysis and implementation support related to energy portfolio management;
  • Knowledge of U.S. and Canadian energy policies, regulations, programs, rebates, practices and issues, and ability to stay abreast of current issues affecting energy markets across North America;
  • Under the direction of the VP of Commodities and Director of Commodities, conduct risk analysis on commodity procurement strategies to understand and clearly communicate the potential risks and implications to Senior Management and clients;
  • Assist in the development of responses to key client Request for Proposals (RFP's)
  • Support crossdepartmental teams to analyze, plan, and/or implement programs/projects in support of the broader corporate strategy and business objectives;
  • Communicate with relevant North American Energy Boards;
  • Experience conducting extensive literature reviews, including the ability to summarize complex data into understandable, userfriendly, relevant explanations for reporting and knowledge transfer to management and staff;
  • Conduct and/or coordinate post implementation reviews of programs, energy budgets, and procurement strategies;
  • Opportunities for continued learning and networking through attending relevant energy symposiums and courses.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum 2 years experience in energyrelated research and analytics
  • Minimum 2 years experience with Canadian and/or U.S. natural gas and electricity markets, utilities, pipeline, systems, electricity trading hubs and distribution systems;
  • Completion of postsecondary education in project management, business administration, commerce, economics or similar program;
  • Understanding of strategic planning, data management, financial or economic modeling, performance measurement, and risk management;
