YOUR ROLE:
The Kruger Kamloops Pulp Mill is recruiting for Entry Level positions for our four main Operations departments; Chip Yard, Fibreline, Machine Room and Power & Recovery.
New employees start with a three-day orientation and are provided extensive safety and job specific training. Schedules are typically 12-hour shifts on a 4 on, 4 off rotation. Employees work two-day shifts, followed by two-night shifts, and then have four days off.
The starting wage is $34.72 per hour with opportunities to develop new skills and increase wages by moving up departmental lines of progression.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Entry Level position offers variety in the work that is performed, including indoor and outdoor work
Common duties include:
ü Equipment operation involving a vacuum truck, forklift, front-end loader, etc.
ü Area clean-up
ü Loading bales of pulp into warehouse and railcars
ü Process testing
ü Ensuring processes and equipment run safely
YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Desire to learn, grow and succeed
ü Strong problem solving & analytical skills, excellent judgment
ü Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks in an environment with competing demands
ü Detail oriented
ü Work well in team and possess a friendly and positive demeanor and professional image
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
ü Experience working in a safety sensitive industrial environment
ü Previous experience operating heavy equipment is an asset
ü Power Engineering Certification is an asset
